Abstract_ english version

Initially, this research arises from the need to know more about each person footprint. Nowadays, ecology is on everyone’s lips, but it is clear that it is something new and real to thought about in architectural works as well as in many other areas. Borrachia studio has said in an interview: “Climate change is imminent and sustainable measures should be common and not extraordinary”.

This premise is going to be used as a starting point in this work, even though the research is going to be conducted towards the domestic and the private sphere. It might could be too ambitious, if not inconsistent, to say that the aim of this study is to find ways to reduce human environment impact, so the studied concept and more specific problem solved is the production of food in an unfamiliar house in Alicante’s suburb (Spanish city).

This study was conducted using two different approaches; on one hand, conducting an research into the world of sustainability, to find references to architects and other professionals as Borrachia Studio or Britta Riley, people involved in the search of new techniques for reducing the environmental impact. And on the other hand, contacting suburbanite people who produces a percentage of food at home and knows the thoughts of people living there.

The result of the research is the idea of new suburb communities, where producing some resources at home could mean the ecological equilibrium.
